podobnie z dużą mocą i energią rośliny kiełkują przebijając się przez warstwę ziemi.
At the weekend I insisted on planting at least a part of the annual crops. Of course, I could not do it myself, I asked my husband and children and I became a supervisory and corrective institution myself (read „children, oh no… please do not do it like that !!!!) Give me this, it’s not like that …”) Seriously, I tried be calm despite the fact that I saw how most of the seeds land between the grooves. I thought then that „it must work, because the moon is new”. I accidentally uttered these words loudly causing an avalanche of comments. So I explain everything from the ayurvedic perspective:
The lunar cycle lasts about 29 days, and its undeniable power makes the moon a keystone of ceremonies, traditions and practices in cultures around the world. Although there are many mythical stories and legends surrounding the moon, there is the same amount of research that aims to find a scientific correlation between the cycles of the moon and the cycles of living beings.
Research includes, among others, agricultural topics (from the best time for planting or harvesting), those concerning a better understanding of the release of melatonin and funcioning of female reproductive cycles. The knowledge accumulated so far is huge and if we try to apply it to the way we lead our lives, we can be one step closer to a conscious connection with nature.
Ayurveda (and most beliefs of traditional societies), divides the lunar cycle into four phases, giving a concrete idea of what is happening at the time.
1. New moon
In traditional cultures, women menstruated together during the dark new moon nights. During this time, they gathered to support each other on the journey to „inside themselves”. During the „dark moon”, when the woman’s energy is at the lowest point, the women practiced introspection, spent time in silence, rest and inner reflection. It is also traditionally the time of sowing – both in terms of planning, intentions and scheme of activities for the nearest time, but also sowing in the field.
2. Time between new and full moon
The intentions, inquiries, and internal contemplations set up during the new moon should become powerful. Each evening the rising moon gains in size, just as plans and projects should speed up. Also plants planted during the new moon slowly take root and the process of growth is beggining.
The time between the new moon and the fullness of moon symbolizes the maturation of the human egg. When you are in harmony and incorporate moon observation practice into your activities, you will discover that their menstrual cycles are turning into a lunar cycle. In this way, women menstruate new and ovulate with the full moon.
3. Fullness
The time of the full moon is the culmination of the manifestation of the „seeds” planted in the new moon. This is the perfect moment to act, to face the challenges that engage you at this time; similarly with high power and energy, the plants germinate through the soil layer.
4. Time from full moon to new moon
Activity, passion and involvement in „external” activities decrease every day, giving way to insight into the functioning of one’s own body and preparing for the arrival of a new one.
